Schwarz D21 Jaws Harp Size 12 75mm Blue

Length: 8.5cm, Width: 5.5cm

Key: F#

The Jews Harp is an instrument of no rules yet an amazing amount of sounds and fun packed into an incredibly neat little package.

A small lyre-shaped folk instrument of uncertain age and origin that was commonly used in Europe in the Middle Ages.

The rounded part of the Jew's Harp is held between the thumb and forefinger of the left hand. The narrow part of the frame should be positioned on the teeth of the performer.

A small, bent, metal tongue inside the frame is then plucked by the finger of the performer to vibrate the tongue producing tones.

The origin of the name is unknown as it has no apparent connection to the Jewish people.

    Jew Harps

Posted by Luke Adams on 31st Jul 2024

My Wife and I have been long fascinated by the sounds of the Jew Harp and it is a frequent instrument in our myriad of favourite genres. So when we discovered Didgeridoo Breath and their harps, they were "twanged up" in record time. Being of differing proportions my wife and I, we decided to get one of each size and we can both use both sizes rather comfortably. I highly recommend these even as a pure beginner like us. It's incredibly easy to create sounds and too to alter them with just a little practice. The hardest part is probably learning how to hold it with ones mouth. After you master that and have free unhindered movement of the "plucker" you're on your way.

My son showed me a YouTube video of the jaw harp and asked for one for his birthday. I googled straight away and Didgeridoo Breath was the first to pop up. Very reasonably priced, quick postage and fantastic customer service. My son absolutely loves it and it sounds great.

I love the Jaw Harp! Learned to play it within an hour. Provides hours of fun. Highly recommend it to anyone! The only downside is the blue paint peels off very quickly as it is pushed against your teeth, but other than that, great product!

I haven't had much experience with Jew harps but I'm very happy with the product. Lots of fun for few bucks. You can take it anywhere and amuse yourself and others. Traveling in a car is good as you have a captive audience. Thanks, Twangers Rule!!

This type of mouth harp is harder to play than a Dan Moi but is still a lot of good fun.
